Kyndryl will develop a technological platform for the renewable energy group Elawan Energy that will accompany it in the growth that its 'green' energy generation business (hydroelectric, wind and solar) is expected to have in the coming years, the company reported.
In addition, Kyndryl Consult experts have designed a modern Security and Resilience strategy to meet the requirements of a sector considered strategic for countries.
By the end of this year, authorities such as the European Union are asking countries for at least 32% of the energy consumed to come from renewable sources such as water, sun or wind. With 50 production plants and a presence in nine countries, Elawan Energy has chosen Kyndryl to establish and manage a "robust, flexible and secure high availability" technology platform.
Likewise, Kyndryl, together with the platform, has also collaborated in establishing the necessary interconnection with Red Eléctrica de España.
The CEO of Elawan Energy, Dionisio Fernández, stressed that as it is a critical sector for the country, it is necessary "to meet very strict requirements and, thanks to their extensive experience, the Kyndryl team has helped us to comply with them and to prepare for the growth we foresee in the near future".
For his part, Kyndryl's president for Spain and Portugal, David Soto, estimated that the technology's solutions "will allow Elawan's critical infrastructures and communications to be modernized and made more resilient."
