Juventus, penalized with 15 points for the 'Case Capital Gains'

MADRID, 20 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) announced this Friday the sanction of 15 points to Juventus, in its Serie A classification, as ruled by the Federal Court of Appeals, which went beyond the request of the prosecutor in the 'Case Capital Gains '.

In the official statement, the Court issued a sanction "to Juventus of 15 penalty points to be met in this Calcio season and with a series of inhibitions to 11 Juventus managers", with a two-year sanction for Andrea Agnelli. The chief prosecutor, Giuseppe Chiné, had asked for 9 points.

The already ex-president of 'Juve' left the club last November, in the resignation of the Board of Directors of the Italian club. La Vecchia Signora, relegated in 2006 and stripped of two titles in a fixing scandal, was under investigation for accounting for transfers above fair value and underestimating employee expenses.

The so-called 'Case Plusvalías' also targeted eight other clubs that were acquitted by the Court of Appeal: Sampdoria, Pro Vercelli, Genoa, Parma, Pisa, Empoli, Novara and Pescara, and their respective directors and coaches.

The most successful team in Serie A, with 34 titles, is third this season in the league, 10 points behind leader Napoli. If they lose these 15, for which CONI still has the resource, they would find themselves in the middle of the table and in serious trouble to reach the places that give access to the European competition.
