Justice rejects the amendments of Podemos, ERC and Bildu to the reform of the yes is yes: "It does not solve the problems created"

The Ministry of Justice rejects "frontally" the amendments presented by Unidas Podemos, ERC and Bildu in Congress to the reform of the Law of 'only yes is yes' presented by the PSOE, sources from Pilar's department have informed Europa Press Llop, who warns that these proposals "do not solve the problems created" with the standard.

The same sources explain that, specifically, Justice refers to the intention of these parties to modify article 180 of the Criminal Code to introduce an aggravated type of violence or intimidation, instead of modifying articles 178 and 179 of the Criminal Code, as Socialists propose.

For Llop's team, this does not solve the problems created by the penal reform operated by the Law of 'only yes is yes' that have been evidenced in the sentence reviews. For Justice, in addition, the effects of these amendments could end in disproportionate penalties in some cases, according to sources.

And, in this sense, they highlight that it could be especially serious in cases of sexual assault of minors under 16 years of age, in which the rule, according to Justice sources, lowered the minimum sentences for aggravated cases and that, both ERC , like Bildu and Podemos, want to keep the law.
