The Infanta Elena accompanies him from the auxiliary boat 'Cristina'

Juan Carlos I has gone sailing, this Saturday, aboard the 'Bribón' that participates in the regattas that are held during the weekend in the Pontevedra municipality of Sanxenxo.

The emeritus king arrived at the marina accompanied by the Infanta Elena, around 12:20 p.m., without stopping at the Real Club Náutico de Sanxenxo (RCNS) and without making any statements to the media.

As the car, driven by his close friend and sailor Pedro Campos, entered the jetty, the emeritus, sitting in the co-pilot's seat, greeted dozens of people and the media.

Upon entering the port, he got out of the car, dressed in nautical clothing --white long-sleeved polo shirt, vest, black pants, cap and glasses-- and with the help of his cane, and greeted the Infanta Elena.

After that, he went down the stairs leading to the jetty, without his cane, accompanied by an assistant and holding on to the railing. Once down, leaning on his cane, he has greeted the crew with whom he has taken a photo, in which the infanta has also appeared.

While on board, shouts of 'long live the king!' and applause. Thus, seated on the starboard side, Juan Carlos I greeted the people on the breakwater.

For her part, the Infanta Elena has boarded, amid applause as she greeted, the auxiliary boat, the semi-rigid 'Cristina', which will accompany the boat of the emeritus during its voyage through the Pontevedra estuary.

In this way, minutes after 1:00 p.m., the 'Bribón' has cast off and the boat 'Cristina' has tied the sailboat of the emeritus by the bow until it has doubled the breakwater. She at that moment she has released it and has hoisted sails.

THE REGATTA

This is the first day of the XXIV Hotel Carlos I Silgar Trophy regatta for 6m class boats, which is also the fifth scoring for the V Spanish League Circuit for this type of boat.

Thus, the employers' meeting was at 12:30 p.m., which the emeritus king did not attend. However, the regatta began at 2:30 p.m. with the warning signal. On Sunday, the warning signal is scheduled at 2:00 p.m.

VISITS IN CASA DE CAMPS

Since Thursday this is the first departure of the king emeritus from the home of Pedro Campos in which, on Friday, he received the crew of the 'Bribón' since the rain did not allow him to go sailing.

Thus, throughout the morning of this Saturday in the building the ex-monarch has received the visit of various people, including the mayor of Sanxenxo, Telmo Martín.

After that, and minutes after 12:00 noon, Juan Carlos I left the building and went to the Sanxenxo Nautical Center.

REPUBLIC MANIFESTATION

On the other hand, at 12.00 hours Galiza Nova, the youth organization of the BNG, has convened a rally to express "its rechazo" before the visit of the king emeritus.

Thus, the general secretary of Galiza Nova, Marta Gómez, who has pointed out that the Spanish monarchy "is a corrupt institution that directly threatens democratic values." "All the events that surround it show it and that the fled king walks through Galicia with impunity even more," said Gómez.

For his part, the nationalist deputy Néstor Rego has influenced his rejection of the monarchy for "being an unfair regime" since "it makes the privileges by birth of a family prevail" and that, in the words of Rego, "perpetuates the idea centralist and imperialist of the Spanish State".

Likewise, during the concentration, Republican chants and chants against it have been heard. At the end, Gómez addressed the attendees to affirm that "Galicia has no king".
