Juan Carlos I has collected the prize from the regattas in the Pontevedra municipality of Sanxenxo in which the 'Bribón', a boat that he has captained, has reached first position.

The mayor of Sanxenxo, Telmo Martín, the coordinator of the Real Club Náutico de Sanxenxo, Carlos Agra, the director of Hotel Carlos I de Silgar, Leonardo López, among other authorities, participated in the award ceremony.

In this way, while they have delivered the awards to the other contestants and to the other category, the ex-monarch has been sitting, on a stool, on the esplanade inside the dry dock.

However, the media have been able to access there, keeping their distance, to immortalize and follow the moment of delivery.

Thus, the ex-monarch, aided by his assistant and his cane, accompanied by the crew of the 'Bribón' has collected, amid applause and cheers, the award given to him by the mayor of Sanxenxo, Telmo Martín.

Next, a photo has been taken with the crew and also with the authorities that have participated in the delivery.

Before him, the Infanta Elena has participated in the collection of the trophy of the boat 'Alibabá II', on board of which she has sailed this Sunday, which has been in second position. Subsequently, they have taken a team photo with the authorities.

After collecting the prizes, the King Emeritus and the Infanta Elena left directly from the jetty, in the same car driven by Pedro Campos, without stopping at the yacht club and without making any statements in the direction of Campos' house, in Nanín.

NAVIGATION SUNDAY

The sailing day began minutes after 12:30 p.m. when the 'Bribón' cast off. On the starboard side she has been tied by the semi-rigid tender 'Cristina' until she has gone around the jetty.

For her part, the Infanta Elena has sailed aboard the sailboat 'Alibabá II'. However, on Saturday she did it in the auxiliary boat 'Cristina' that accompanied her father during all the days of navigation.

Thus, both boats have arrived at port at almost the same time, around 4:15 p.m., which has meant more than three hours of navigation through the Pontevedra estuary.

These two days of sailing have been those of the XXIV Carlos I Silgar Hotel Trophy regatta for 6m class boats, which is also the fifth scoring for the V Spanish League Circuit for this type of boat.
