Israel confirms the death of the commander of Hamas anti-tank operations

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed this Wednesday the death of the head of the anti-tank forces of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Mohamed Atzar, during an airstrike against the northern Gaza Strip.

According to the IDF, Atzar was responsible for "all the anti-tank systems of the different (Hamas) brigades in the Gaza Strip," and was also in charge of managing the anti-tank forces and ensuring their activation.

The Army has even shared a video of the attack, carried out from a fighter plane, against the building in the Gaza Strip where the Hamas commander was. The IDF accuses Atzar of having carried out "a series of attacks" against Israeli citizens.

"The elimination of the head of the anti-tank system will affect the continuation of the fighting in the Gaza Strip," IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari later said, considering Atzar's death as a powerful message for the families of the hostages.
