IDF adds 14 new settlements to its evacuation plan for the north of the country

MADRID, 22 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced this Sunday that they will include a total of 14 new settlements in their evacuation plan for the north of the country.

"The National Emergency Authority (EIA) of the Ministry of Defense and the IDF announce the incorporation of additional settlements to the state-funded evacuation plan for northern residents," the IDF itself explained through the social network known as Twitter.

In the same publication they have clarified that this expansion "has been approved by the Minister of Defense, Yoav Galant" and that "the Northern Command has recently informed the heads of the councils of the decision."

Specifically, the 14 settlements recently added to the Israeli program are Shanir, Dan, Beit Hillel, Shaar Yishuv, Gosher, Liman, Mitzvah, Ilon, Goren, Garnot HaGalil, Ibn Menachem, Sassa, Tsivbon and Ramot Naftali. In these territories, "the program will be managed by local authorities, the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Defense," according to the IDF.

This Friday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced a plan to evacuate civilians "residents of Kiryat Shmona", near the border with Lebanon, "to guest houses financed by the State" within the framework of a spike in tensions and exchange of attacks between the Israeli Army and the Lebanese Shiite militia party Hezbollah, supported by Iran.
