MADRID, 12 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The president of the CEOE, Antonio Garamendi, stated this Wednesday that "pressuring" Ferrovial so that it does not move to the Netherlands "is not the most appropriate way" to get it to stay.

Garamendi, in statements to the press during an act of the CEOE Foundation to present the 'Sustainable Digitization' campaign, has called for "deep respect" for the decision of a private company, whose "move" to the Netherlands is "perfectly clear that can be done" from a legal point of view.

"The reasons that Ferrovial has decided are what they are, they are there and it has clearly explained them, not once, but several times. I believe that we must respect what the company is proposing", Garamendi pointed out.

On the Executive's argument that the company could list from Spain in the United States, the president of the CEOE has stressed that "there is no Spanish company" that is doing so.

"Above all, the freedom of the decisions made by the company must be respected," insisted Garamendi, who stressed that Ferrovial has made the decision that it considers most appropriate for the interests of the company, its shareholders and its future.

Garamendi has also affirmed that business decisions are not the ones that generate "legal uncertainty", but that this is the result "of regulations in Spain that do not create legal certainty".
