Gamarra tells Sánchez that, if he wants to build bridges, he must first respect the separation of powers and judicial independence

He asks him to "abandon" the investigative commissions demanded by the independentists, who seek "political control of Justice"

MADRID, 24 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The general secretary of the PP, Cuca Gamarra, warned this Friday the acting head of the Executive, Pedro Sánchez, that if he wants to build bridges with his party, the first thing he must do is "respect" the separation of powers" and the independence of the Power of attorney.

In this way, Gamarra has responded to Sánchez, who has disfigured the PP for the "asymmetric polarization" that it is carrying out with his insults, but at the same time has expressed his willingness to "build bridges" for an agreement with the main party of the opposition. As the president added in an informal conversation with the journalists accompanying him on his trip to the Middle East, the PP has "a political discourse of destruction."

When asked about Sánchez's words betting on building bridges with the PP in this legislature without changing majorities to renew the CGPJ, Gamarra stressed that "the first thing they have to do is respect the separation of powers and of course respect independence of the Judiciary".

That said, Gamarra has called on the Sánchez Government and PSOE to "abandon all those investigative commissions" that the independentists have asked of them in the agreement to support the investiture of Pedro Sánchez and that, in his opinion, "only have one objective: fulfill the demands of their partners, to whom they have offered impunity".

In statements to the media before participating in the PP event in Madrid against the elimination of violence against women, Gamarra stressed that, in addition to this "impunity for fugitives from Justice", what they demand is "the control politician of Justice". "And therefore what Sánchez must do is change and stop accepting all these types of commissions," he explained.

For now, last Tuesday the Congress Board admitted to processing the investigation commissions that the PSOE agreed with the independentists when the Lower House was established and that Junts wants to take advantage of to recognize the so-called 'lawfare' or judicialization of politics against adversaries. and thus expand the list of beneficiaries of the Amnesty Law.

On the other hand, in response to Sumar's complaint against members of the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ), Gamarra has stated that it is actually a complaint from the Government led by Pedro Sánchez. "Sumar, that is, the Government, is suing the CGPJ magistrates," he emphasized.

According to Gamarra, "first they offer impunity to their partners, then they announce that they will monitor the judges from Congress and now, directly, they denounce them for defending democracy." "They want Justice at their service," he denounced in a message on the social network

Specifically, Sumar has announced that this Friday he will file a complaint before the Supreme Court against the interim president of the CGPJ, Vicente Guilarte, and the conservative members of the organization for their "unacceptable interference" in the legislative function of Congress, by authorizing and participating in the extraordinary plenary session that led to the institutional declaration against the Amnesty Law.
