Both of them, sentenced to four years in prison, have an order to commit them to prison for a crime of "depositing weapons and ammunition."

Ertzaintza members have arrested Aitor Zelaia and Galder Barbado, sentenced by the National Court to four years in prison for a crime of "depositing weapons and ammunition", after appearing on the balcony of the Defense Subdelegation in Vitoria, where They have remained for more than 90 minutes.

The Basque Police officers arrested them at 6:40 p.m. and took them to the police vans to be taken to the police station. Both arrestees are subject to an order to enter prison to serve their sentence, ratified by the Supreme Court.

The two appeared around 5:00 p.m. this afternoon on the balcony of the Defense Subdelegation in Vitoria, before starting a demonstration in their support.

The protest, called by the Ankerkeria Stop platform, was scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. next to the Artium Museum. Around 5:00 p.m., the two convicts appeared on the balcony of the former Military Government dressed in blue t-shirts used in protests against their imprisonment.

Both have placed, on the balcony, an ikurriña and the Navarrese flag, while in front of the official building, hundreds of people have gathered, wearing the same t-shirts, chanting slogans of support. The Ertzaintza has moved to the scene.

Finally, after more than an hour and a half, the ertzainas have entered the Subdelegation and have accessed the balcony, to take both condemned men.

His arrest took place amid cries of protest from those gathered, although no incidents have been reported and the Ertzaintza has not intervened.

Finally, those arrested were fired amid applause by the dozens of people gathered in front of the official building, who chanted shouts of encouragement.

MANIFESTATION

Subsequently, they moved to the area next to the Artium museum, where the demonstration was going to begin, to show their rejection of the arrests and begin the march with shouts of support for the detainees and against the Ertzaintza and the PNV.

Both Zelaia and Barbado had recently been notified of the order to enter prison for the four-year sentence for a crime of depositing elements for the manufacture of explosive and incendiary devices.

Both were convicted of storing explosives in a drum found by the Ertzaintza in the town of Durana in Alava, material that the Police linked to the attacks recorded in several offices of a bank in Vitoria.
