Feijóo sees an "important divergence" in Extremadura that separates the PP from an agreement with Vox "at least for now"

MADRID, 23 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has assured today that the PP has a "significant divergence" with Vox in Extremadura that separates them from the agreement "at least for the moment."

This has been stated by the leader of the PP after the inauguration of the president of the community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso. When asked if he maintains that with 12 percent Vox has the right to enter the autonomous governments, Feijóo has specified that of the 9 autonomous communities in which the PP had a chance to govern, it is governing five alone and has not needed Vox support.

In another, in reference to Valencia, he has indicated that they will probably govern with Santiago Abascal's party because they do need it; In two others, he has said that his colleagues are negotiating in reference to the Balearic Islands and Aragon, while in Extremadura "it has not been possible."

Referring specifically to this last CCAA, Feijóo explained that "there has been a significant divergence" that separates them "at least for the moment" from reaching an agreement.

Having said this, he wanted to make it clear that the PP negotiates with the Constitution and the statutes of each CCAA in hand, maintains its electoral principles and commitments, is "coherent" with the results of the polls, "proportionate" in its decisions and respects to the citizens. In addition, it has specified that it is each autonomous parliament that has to decide who is the president of that autonomous community and the Cortes Generales, if it is the president of the Government.
