Feijóo demands responsibilities after the attempted sexual assault of an ex-inmate benefited by the 'yes is yes'

MADRID, 25 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The president of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has demanded this Friday "explanations and assumption of responsibilities" in the Government after an ex-inmate who had benefited from the 'only yes is yes law' was arrested on Wednesday for trying to attack sexually a woman in Dos Hermanas (Seville).

In a message on social networks, the leader of the PP regretted that the recidivism of a sexual assault "is carried out by a person who has received legal benefits from a Law such as the 'only yes is yes' law." "He deserves explanations and assumption of responsibilities in the acting government of Pedro Sánchez," Feijóo claimed in a message published in 'X', collected by Europa Press.

Likewise, the 'popular' president has asked to talk about this attempted sexual assault "because the seriousness of the facts is undeniable", without losing attention to Rubiales' controversial kiss.

"Let's talk about the acts carried out by Luis Rubiales, of course. But let's also do it about this because the seriousness of the events is undeniable. Our encouragement, solidarity and support for all the victims," he defended.

In this context, the National Secretary of the Interior of the PP, Ana Vázquez, has also spoken, who has asked the acting Minister of Equality, Irene Montero, if someone is going to resign after this attempted sexual assault of a repeat offender.

The PP has also commented on the information from his account on social networks. "All our solidarity with the victim of a sexual offender released prematurely by this disastrous law," said the party led by Alberto Núñez Feijóo, referring to the law promoted by the Government of PSOE and United We Can.

The attempted sexual assault occurred last Monday in Dos Hermanas (Seville) and the Police arrested M.R.C. for these events on Wednesday. According to sources from the investigation to Europa Press, this is a recidivist man who benefited from the "only yes is yes" law, leaving prison in April, two months before the date originally scheduled to liquidate his sentence, the June 20th.

The Court of First Instance and Instruction number 4 of Dos Hermanas (Seville), on duty, has ordered this Friday the entry into provisional prison, communicated and without bail for an alleged crime of attempted sexual assault.

The "popular" formation has also responded to a comment by the acting minister Irene Montero, who this Friday has defended the "only yes is yes" law when referring to the controversy surrounding the president of the RFEF, Luis Rubiales, for kiss the player Jennifer Hermoso after winning the World Cup.

The PP has recalled that a year ago the law that has favored 1,155 sexual offenders was approved and that 117 were released from prison. "The PP voted for its reform to stop the bleeding of sentence reductions. Today, the 'Coalition Government' remains proud and believes that this law has been an advance in rights," he denounced.
