Feijóo begins to think about names of ministers and it would be nonsense for Sánchez to continue as head of the opposition if he loses

Apart from his vice president and Minister of Economy, he already has two or three other names in mind, such as the head of Justice

PAMPLONA, 16 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The leader of the PP and candidate for the Presidency of the Government, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, is already beginning to think about the names of ministers for his future Government, although he acknowledges that he does not know "not even the collar of his shirt." Although he asks his people not to stop working in this final stretch because "nothing is done", he believes that it would be "nonsense" for the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, to continue as head of the opposition if the PP governs, according to this statement. Saturday in an informal chat with journalists.

Feijóo himself already said last Tuesday that if the PP wins the general elections and reaches Moncloa, the PSOE will have to make a "decision" because "it cannot sit down a president of the Government who has just been beaten at the polls."

"That is not the future. If the future is a man who has lost the elections as Prime Minister and does not leave the Chamber, the truth is that this makes it very easy for the Government," he confessed in an interview on esRadio, collected by Europa Press.

Feijóo reaffirms these statements and considers that it would be "nonsense" for Pedro Sánchez to continue sitting in Congress as head of the opposition in the event of losing the general elections and the PP arriving at the Moncloa Palace, as he admitted this Saturday in a conversation with the journalists in the campaign bus.

The PP leader criticizes that the Prime Minister is willing to govern losing, seeking alliances with many parties to remain in power. It is one of the main messages that he is conveying these days in all his rallies, where he insists that only the PP is a guarantee that there will be no blockade in the Government of Spain, as happened in 2016 to Mariano Rajoy with the "no is no " that Pedro Sánchez then snapped at him.

Feijóo's team faces this last week of the campaign with optimism, given that they take it for granted that they will win more than 150 seats. In addition, they wonder if, in the event of reaching 168 deputies, they would prevent him from governing. The 'popular' do not want to depend on Vox and will seek support from parties such as the PNV and the Canary Islands Coalition, or the abstention of the Socialist Party.

In this situation, the leader of the 'popular' is already beginning to have in mind what the structure of his future government will be like, although he admits in his talk with journalists that there are portfolios in which he has not even thought of possible names.

Two weeks ago, Feijóo himself already revealed that he will have a vice president, although he did not give his name. According to him, she said, she will be a woman who "has governed" but has not been in the Government of Spain, a few words that led PP officials to turn their eyes towards the current general secretary of the party, Cuca Gamarra.

Feijóo also said then that his future Minister of Economy "is not a politician" but he is someone "very good". In fact, he indicated that Spain "will sleep peacefully" because a "solid" economic policy will be carried out again. And this Saturday he insisted on the idea that he will be a person who is not affiliated with the PP.

Despite questions from the press, the PP leader remains firm in his refusal to reveal the names of possible ministers and stresses that he does not know "not even the collar of his shirt." Asked about the possibility that he only has one vice president as Mariano Rajoy did, or has two like José Maria Aznar, Feijóo does not rule out the second option but does not give details about it either.

Apart from the name of his vice president and the Minister of Economy, Feijóo has decided on two or three more names, such as Justice. In the case of the Foreign Minister, he admitted that he has a short list in mind, but has not made a decision. In the case of Equality, he reiterated that his intention is for it to depend on the Ministry of the Presidency.

Feijóo complains in his talk that the Government of Pedro Sánchez has not provided him with any type of information about the semester of the Spanish Presidency of the European Union that started on July 1, despite the fact that there are options that the Party Popular reaches the Government of Spain.

In the event that the PP governs, the 'popular' candidate trusts that the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, will adopt a decision, as he told journalists this Saturday.
