Feijóo attacks Sánchez for using Marcial Dorado's "garbage" to "try to discredit him"

"When I met him, he had been a smuggler, never a drug trafficker," he says, adding that the Galicians "tried" him at the polls

The leader of the PP and candidate for the Presidency of the Government, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has attacked this Friday against the head of the Executive, Pedro Sánchez, for using the "garbage" of Marcial Dorado in the campaign to "try to discredit him" when, as he has stressed, "he knows" that he "has never had anything to do with the final activity of this man", alluding to drug trafficking. In fact, he has pointed out that when he met him "he had been a smuggler, never a drug dealer."

This is how Feijóo has pronounced himself in an interview on the Cope network after Sánchez has accused the PP president of lying and making excuses when explaining his relationship with the drug trafficker Dorado, which the chief executive believes "disturbing".

Feijóo has assured that he has carried out "five electoral campaigns" with the photos of Dorado, four of them to the Xunta de Galicia, and has stressed that the Galicians have "judged him quite clearly" because they gave him their trust at the polls on all occasions.

"After 30 years of politics, the Galicians who know very well the difference between knowing a person and having a business relationship or a relationship of complicity with that person," said the "popular" candidate.

Specifically, Feijóo has reported that the first time this issue was brought up to him was in the 2009 elections, when they told him that they were going to take those photos with Dorado who, according to what he said, at that time was a smuggler.

"I mean that when I met him he had been a smuggler, never a drug trafficker," he added, to point out that he has offered explanations about those snapshots and has made it clear that he met him "when he had nothing to do with this matter."

In addition, it has indicated that a summary of the National Court "makes it clear that there are many people with photos with this man from all political parties" and "no politician was even called to testify in relation to possible issues that this person had pending".

Having said this, Feijóo has indicated that in the campaign for the elections for the Presidency of the Government he expected "a little more level" and did not expect "nothing more and nothing less than the President of the Government to use this garbage to try to discredit the adversary".

Immediately afterwards, he has alluded to the "newspaper library of photos" of Pedro Sánchez and Yolanda Díaz. "I am not going to talk about photos because it seems inappropriate to me and because it would also fall into its own trap. If I take the newspaper library of the photos of Mr. Sánchez, of the photos of Mrs. Yolanda Díaz, well, they are there, with dictators, with people accused of drug trafficking and people who could not enter the EU", alluding to the Venezuelan vice president Delcy Rodríguez.

Thus, Feijóo has indicated that, despite this prohibition to enter Schengen territory, she was "attended in Barajas" and is "the same one that the President of the Government kisses publicly and notoriously now at the CELAC summit", referring to the photo this week in Brussels.

TALK ABOUT "SHOCKS" AND "INSIDIATE"

In this sense, Feijóo has acknowledged his "surprise" at the fact that "the candidate Sánchez can boast of photos." "I have never dedicated my electoral campaign to proving that I am not a liar," he said, to highlight that the chief executive has dedicated himself to "walking around television sets" to "try to convince the Spaniards that he is not lying."

In his opinion, all this and "all these hoaxes" are part of the "attitude of a candidate for the Presidency" who, in his opinion, has dedicated himself to "targeting" his adversary when "he knows perfectly well" that he has "never" had "nothing to do with the final activity" of Dorado.
