Feijóo accuses Sánchez of bringing the PSOE to "irrelevance" by "crashing" on 18F: "Everything to save his Presidency"

He warns that the recipe to "stop the independence movement" and "corner Sanchismo" is to concentrate the vote on the PP

The leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has accused this Monday the head of the Executive, Pedro Sánchez, of leading the Socialist Party to "irrelevance" in "a good part" of the communities, including Galicia, after PSdeG has "crashed" in the regional elections this February 18. And everything, he has continued, to "save" the Presidency of the Government and continue in the Moncloa Palace.

"Galicia gave an example to all of Spain. The Government wanted to make these elections an electoral problem for the PP and it has been a great political opportunity for Spain," Feijóo proclaimed at the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Galician PP after the regional elections of this Sunday, where the party achieved a comfortable absolute majority with 40 seats and more than 700,000 votes (47.36%).

Feijóo, who convened this Tuesday the National Executive Committee to analyze the results and design the strategy for the coming weeks, has valued the vote of the Galicians for "stability", "sentidiño" and "for Galicia that does not never failed and to which the PP will not fail either.

According to the president of the 'popular', Galicia "gives a message to the rest of Spain", since "there must be lands without fractures, without instabilities and without adventures." "We win as always, we win like never before," he has emphasized to PP officials and militants.

After the chapter of thanks, especially for Alfonso Rueda whom he baptized as "baron" of the PP, the head of the opposition has launched an attack against Sánchez, whom he has reproached for leading his party to "political irrelevance." ". "But in political irrelevance, not only in Galicia, but in a good part of the Autonomous Communities. And all to save the Presidency and the Government," he has criticized.

At this point, he told him that if he has to choose between the Government and the party, "he prefers the party." What's more, he has said that between the Presidency of the Government and "not having colleagues who are presidents of CCAA", he chooses "to have the autonomous presidents." "Who has seen and who sees the PSOE", he has exclaimed, to accuse the PSOE of having "surrendered" to the independentists and nationalism

Feijóo has stressed that these elections have shown that if the vote is concentrated in the PP "they stop the independence movement" and "they corner Sanchismo." "This is the recipe. Concentrate your vote on the Popular Party," he proclaimed before the officials and militants of the Galician PP.

The leader of the PP, who has indicated that in the opposition "everything looks different" but "a lot is learned", recalled that this week marks precisely two years since the national PP announced the call for an extraordinary congress -- in allusion to the internal crisis that faced Pablo Casado and Isabel Díaz Ayuso-- that led him to the Presidency of the PP.

"On February 22, if I remember correctly, the day before the start of the war in Ukraine, it turns out that the gentlemen of the PP have a traffic jam in our organization, and I was in Genoa that night, and it was decided to call a congress extraordinary", he recalled, adding that for him "there is no better formula than celebrating these two years with the absolute majority of Alfonso Rueda in Galicia".

"WE HAVE WON AGAINST EVERYTHING AND AGAINST EVERYONE" Feijóo has highlighted the poor results achieved by the Government coalition led by Sánchez, PSOE and Sumar. "Sanchez's party crashed and the government parties, Mrs. Díaz, etc., well I don't know where they are, except in the most intense political irrelevance," he added.

After ensuring that Alfonso Rueda "has obtained honors in his exam," he stressed that the PP has "won those who wanted this to be a leadership plebiscite." "I just want to say that we have won once again against everything and everyone," he stated.

What's more, he said that the PP has "beaten the irresponsibility of Sánchez's party, which embraced and entrusted itself to Galician nationalism, to all the lies, to all the manipulations, to all the schemes and to all the mud dumped during the Campaign".

The leader of the PP, who has stressed that they have worked with "humility, honesty and respect" for the citizens, has highlighted that the PP has won five consecutive times with an absolute majority in this community, because they are the party that "most resembles Galicia".

Feijóo, who has defended his involvement in the campaign because it was his "duty" and knowing that he was going to be "judged" for it, has stated that "everything that happens in the PP will hurt him." Furthermore, he thanked his people for already thinking about the next electoral events: Basque elections in spring and European elections in June.

Finally, he had words of praise for his successor at the head of the Xunta, Alfonso Rueda, whom he congratulated for his work, for his effort and responsibility. "He was my general secretary, my vice president, my successor and now a full-fledged baron with his first absolute majority," he stated, adding that the Galician result is "real democracy" and "without intermediaries."
