Espanyol becomes the first LaLiga club to include cryptocurrency payments

RCD Espanyol and Crypto SNACK have reached an agreement this Tuesday to accept payments through cryptocurrencies at the facilities of the blue and white club, becoming the first club in all of LaLiga that has opted for payments through them and the first to worldwide to officially accept 30 cryptocurrencies.

Thus, those who wish will be able to buy products from the online store with cryptocurrencies starting this Tuesday; and, later on, a second phase will be activated where fans will have the possibility of paying season tickets, tickets or passes for the RCDE Stadium tour.

"RCD Espanyol looks to the future with this movement with which it intends to consolidate itself as a technological benchmark in the sports field, going hand in hand with a sector that is clearly growing and that has practically infinite possibilities to generate a new global economic engine", said the deputy general manager of RCD Espanyol, Antoni Alegre.

Crypto SNACK joined the Espanyol family last May as one of the official sponsors of the club. Currently, the entity's logo is on the training shirt, on the first team's game pants and on the shirt of the FIFA eSports section. "We are very happy to be partners with Espanyol, who will officially accept payments in Cryptocurrencies, being one of the pioneers in the sector," said Crypto Snack CEO, Stuart Morrison.

Both entities signed a commitment for three seasons. This agreement attracts the attention of the Blockchain sector and it is expected that in the future some events related to these new technologies can be held at the RCDE Stadium. "This joint work allows us to bring technology closer to fans and open the doors of RCDE to a global market", concluded the CEO.
