ERC demands from the PSOE a "serious" negotiation for the investiture and unity with Junts so as not to give the Socialists an advantage

BARCELONA, 19 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The general secretary of ERC, Marta Rovira, has demanded this Saturday from the PSOE a "serious" and "guaranteed" negotiation on the eventual investiture of Pedro Sánchez and has asked Junts to face these talks together because if they go separately, the Socialists will work with advantage.

In an interview in the newspaper 'Ara' collected this Saturday by Europa Press, Rovira has insisted that the PSOE has to change its way of negotiating because, as he has denounced, until now they have not been able to have "serious meetings or with guarantees" with the socialists.

Asked about the independence pacts to configure the Congress Table, Rovira has asked Junts for coordination "to recover the joint initiative of the negotiation" for the investiture.

"What is evident is that if we do what we have done this week, we give the PSOE a very strong position. If each one negotiates on their own, the PSOE is the one who has all the information," he added.

The ERC general secretary has considered that Catalan politics should change for the better after the latest pacts with the Socialists and has advocated ending "a very false tacticism and partisanship".

Rovira has opined that the amnesty law "conceptually should be an end point of the political conflict" and has asked to negotiate it with guarantees and using existing legal channels.

He has detailed that "the issue of Catalan who puts it on the agenda is the PSOE" and, although he has celebrated his future recognition in the EU, he has said verbatim that Catalans need to live 100% in Catalan in Catalonia.
