The electoral regulations establish that the coalitions are registered 10 days after the call, point out from United We Can

MADRID, 29 May. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Sumar, the platform led by second vice president Yolanda Díaz, is already talking with all the progressive agents to prepare the electoral advance and they already have "a lot" of work "advancing", according to sources from the group.

The advancement of the general elections to July 27, announced by President Pedro Sánchez, urges Díaz's project to accelerate its objective of reconfiguring the alternative left to the PSOE, given that the time for the call is pressing.

For example, since the publication of the general elections, there is a 10-day guideline for the registration of coalitions, which depending on the publication of the electoral date in the Official State Gazette (BOE) could be June 8 or 9.

For the candidacy around Sumar, Díaz has already carried out conversations with more than fifteen progressive formations, including all the forces of Unidas Podemos (Podemos, IU, Comunes and Alianza Verde) and parties outside the current confederal space such as Más Madrid, Compromís , the Aragonese Chunta, Proyecto Drago, Batzarre or the Movement for Dignity and Citizenship (MDyC) of Ceuta, among others.

Messages calling for unity have come from the sphere of the parties called to form this broad front. For example, the leader of Podemos, Ione Belarra, has stressed that they are determined to bet on unity and work is already underway for a confluence agreement with Díaz.

In this way, the previous tensions are deemed to have been overcome and it shows and the party shows its willingness to achieve this coalition pact, after absenting itself from the official launch of Díaz's candidacy on April 2 because a preliminary agreement had not been signed.

However, now that context has turned around fully aware that the moment requires responsibility, as sources from the confederate space say.

The federal coordinator of IU, Alberto Garzón, has assured that his formation, before the electoral advance, already puts "hands to work" to present a country proposal that allows to stop the "reactionary wave".

Thus, the also head of Consumption also points to a broad front around Sumar, a process that he supports and with a succession of previous messages praising the vice president as the best candidate to achieve unity.

The coordinator of Alianza Verde, the environmental force of Unidas Podemos, has also remarked that the response of the progressive forces must be unity and that there is little time left, but "this is not the time for doubts."

Díaz herself has stated that from this very moment she is starting to work, from her Sumar platform, to "win" in the general elections advanced by the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez.

In addition, he has stressed that "these are times of audacity", in reference to the space of the alternative left to the PSOE, and that the people are "waiting" for them in the face of "black Spain" championed by the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo.

And although the initial forecast was to be able to complete the negotiations between parties and collectives for a joint candidacy in the summer, or even September, now the vice president must step on the accelerator to have the project for the generals assembled.

What remains in the air right now is the question of the primaries, given that if the deadlines estimated for now are met, the registration of the electoral list should take place between June 18 or 19.

Various agents of the confederal space underline that the times of the electoral call are very tight and the deployment of this election system is complicated and that it will be one of the points to be determined in the contacts of these days. Some of these voices point directly to the fact that a primary seems difficult, which was Díaz's intention. In addition, the open primaries was one of the requirements that Podemos raised for a prior agreement.

In this way, said sources indicate that they are optimistic in the face of a broad front, that the moment requires it so that the progressive bases do not fall into resignation after 28M and believe that Podemos, due to its more robust organization, is necessary for Díaz assumes the elections with guarantees.
