MADRID, 2 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The second vice president, Yolanda Díaz, has shown muscle by gathering a multitude of social support and political allies this Sunday, where she celebrates the act that culminates the tour of the Sumar listening process and where she is expected to make the announcement of her candidacy official.

In this way, the Minister of Labor has attended the event supported by the mayoress of Barcelona, Ada Colau ('comunes'), the coordinator of IU, Alberto Garzón, the leader of Más País, Íñigo Errejón, his counterpart from Más Madrid , Mónica García, and the mayor of Valencia, Joan Ribó, and with the resounding absence of the general secretary of Podemos, Ione Belarra, and the leadership of her party, who have not attended as they did not see their condition that Sumar sign a previous agreement of confluence, based on open primaries.

However, and despite this guideline of the purple formation, the regional leaders of Galicia (Borja San Ramón) and Navarra (Begoña Alfaro) have attended, as well as several national and regional deputies such as Antón Gómez-Reino, Txema Guijarro, Nacho Escartín and Daniel Ripa, among others.

Besides, other Podemos cadres have not attended but have given support to Díaz during these days, such as the Balearic vice president Juan Pedro Yllanes, the deputy Gloria Elizo, the Podemos candidate for the autonomous elections in Asturias, Covadonga Tomé.

This morning the regional coordinator of the formation Irene de Miguel joined, who on social networks said that "everything starts for Sumar today" and that although "it could not have been today", she is "sure that there will be other stations to be able to meet and continue together to transform this country with courage".

During the start of the event at the Polideportivo Antonio Magariños, the affluence has overflowed the expected number of 3,000 people and, according to the organization, a large crowd has formed that has motivated that part of the people gathered in the area could enter.

In the case of IU, the formation has turned to Díaz in this meeting with a delegation of up to 200 state and regional officials, in addition to militants, made up of deputy Enrique Santiago, also general secretary of the PCE, spokesperson Sira Rego or her responsible for Organization, Ismael González, and many candidates from the organization for the 28M elections.

As for the 'commons', also one of Díaz's bastions for his political project, they have sent a large delegation with the Minister of Universities, Joan Subirats, the spokesperson in the Catalan Parliament, Jéssica Albiach, the president of the confederal group in the Congress, Jaume Asens, and the deputies Aina Vidal or Gerardo Pisarello.

Within the confederal space, the attendance of the deputy and coordinator of Alianza Verde, Juantxo López de Uralde, together with regional party officials, also stands out.

On the other hand, Más Madrid wanted to make clear its agreement with Díaz for this process with a large delegation headed by García and the spokesperson for the Madrid City Council, Rita Maestre, together with regional deputies and councilors in the capital.

The support for Díaz will not end there, as it will also be supported by Errejón and positions from Más País such as the Andalusian deputy Esperanza Gómez, and the coordinator of Más Región, Óscar Uralburu, who is also a former regional secretary of Podemos in Murcia.

The representation of Compromís is led by the mayor of Valencia, Joan Ribó, and there will also be a presence of other progressive formations allied in the so-called 'Turia Agreement', such as Verdes Equo with their co-spokespersons Marcellesi and Silvia Mellado and the deputy Inés Sabanés, la Chunta Aragonese, the spokesperson for the Movement for Dignity and Citizenship of Ceuta (MDyC), Fatima Hamed, and leaders of the Drago project, launched by former deputy and former leader of Podemos Alberto Rodríguez.

In addition, the presence of parties at the international level stands out since, for example, the co-president of the European Green Party, Mélanie Vogel, and the president of the European Left Party (PIE), Walter Baier, will be present. Although they have not attended, the former vice president of Bolivia Álvaro García Linera and the former Greek president Alexis Tsipras have provided support in networks.

The former socialist deputy in the Madrid Assembly Carla Antonelli, and the former CCOO leader Ignacio Fernández Toxo have also attended Díaz's appeal.

Both the CCOO and the UGT have sent representation, but without their general secretaries, and there are representatives of social groups such as the Spanish Commission for Refugee Assistance (CEAR), ONCE, the Spanish Committee of Representatives of People with Disabilities (CERMI), SOS Racismo and the Union of Autonomous (UATAE).

Regarding the absence of Podemos, Maestre and García have defended that today "is not a day for negotiations, nor for conditions, nor for bad faces or words", but rather to "contribute". A similar line has been expressed by the deputy Sabanés at the gates of the compound.

Meanwhile, Colau has stressed that Sumar is a meeting place and that he hopes that Podemos will be present at the next meeting.

Yesterday, the general secretary of Podemos stated that they would only attend if Díaz signed a prior commitment to open primaries, something that has not happened, and that some want Podemos to have a "secondary role" for a future unity candidacy, but she replied that her training must be "strong" in that space because it is key to re-editing the coalition government.

The purples have expressed incomprehension for the fact that Díaz does not sign a primary commitment with them, a simple and basic condition, and that it is she who has the key to unity. Faced with this, Díaz said that there was no excuse for not going and that she has already made it clear that there will be primaries with all the guarantees.

From sectors of the party they suspect that this condition may be incompatible with conversations with the rest of the parties and that some want to weaken them, postponing this pact until after the 28M elections, and that it is a mistake because it would diminish the project. They also complain that they are denied the legitimacy to put forward proposals on how the confluence should be.

Despite this vision, representatives such as Ripa, an Asturian deputy critical of the leadership and former party leader in this community, and the Valencian parliamentarian Naiara Davó have attended.

The mayor of the Rivas City Council and spokesperson for Podemos, Vanessa Millán, has also attended; in addition to charges that were organic charges in the past of Podemos such as the former secretary of the party in the Basque Country, Lander Martínez. The Minister of Migration Policies and Justice of the Government of Navarra, Eduardo Santos, who is also former secretary of the purple formation in Navarra, also attended.
