Díaz says that the universal inheritance would reach half a million young people and that Calviño will end up celebrating the measure

He advances that there will be good news with the unemployment data and that the reduction in working hours is good for companies

MADRID, 3 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The leader of Sumar, Yolanda Díaz, has estimated that her "universal heritage" proposal will benefit almost half a million young people if it is applied this year or next and responds to Calviño, who today criticized the measure, that it will happen to him the same as with the minimum wage and the ERTE mechanism, since at first it disdains it and then over time it will end up celebrating its deployment.

On the other hand, he has advanced that the unemployment data that will be released this Tuesday will bring "good news" and will be positive, in addition to defending that the reduction in working hours that he proposes will be good for companies, since it will improve the country's productivity.

In statements to Telecinco, collected by Europa Press, Díaz has indicated that the 'universal inheritance, which supposes a public aid of 20,000 euros for young people when they reach the social majority, is a "modest and prudent" measure to solve the lack of equal opportunities in Spain.

Today Díaz and Sumar themselves have explained that the payment of this measure will be made at 23 years of age (this will affect people who meet that age range or are younger when it comes into force), its cost will be 10,000 million, which will be financed with an ambitious tax on large fortunes and will be linked to training, job placement or entrepreneurship. For this, there will be an advisory office to help choose the destination of that amount.

Díaz has indicated that if the universal inheritance is applied this year, it will cover 490,000 young people and if it were the next, it would reach 489,000 young people, in addition to claiming that when it comes to tackling inequalities, the measures must be "universal", without being subject to criteria of rent.

In turn, the Sumar candidate for the Presidency of the Government has given as an example of the usefulness of the proposal the fact that a young man wants to apply for the opposition to be a judge, something that requires years of dedication and that a working family does not can be allowed. She has also cited those who today do not have the possibility of starting and setting up a business due to lack of help.

Regarding Calviño's attacks on his plan, the second vice president has also alluded that he said the same thing when he proposed the ERTE protection mechanism in a pandemic or when he launched that it was "irresponsible" to raise the SMI because it would destroy jobs, but then to As time went by, the Minister of Economy understood that both things had been positive, as had the labor reform.

"Now she boasts of them. I am sure that when the years go by and we carry out this measure, Mrs. Calviño will celebrate this measure as she has done with many others," Díaz replied.

Regarding the unemployment data, the head of Labor has not advanced figures but has said that they will be positive, demonstrating that the Executive will continue to deliver good news until the last day and that its public policies help to have a better country.

Finally, he has reflected that reducing the working day in Spain is possible and that they have studied that as working hours are reduced, competitiveness grows, which is a big problem for Spain.

For this reason, he has broken down that Sumar wants to reduce the weekly workday to 37.5 hours next year and continue to evolve until 32 hours, without loss of salary, together with leaving an hour before work.
