'Courage to transform', Podemos' motto for the 28M elections that vindicates its impetus for progressive measures

MADRID, 1 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) -

'Courage to transform' is the motto that Podemos will use for the upcoming 28M municipal and regional elections, with which it wants to vindicate its fundamental role in achieving key progress for the country, both at the state level and in regional and local governments.

This was announced today by the leader of the purple formation and Minister of Social Rights, Ione Belarra, during her speech at the State Citizen Council, the highest executive body of the party between citizen assemblies.

In this way, it continues in a similar vein to its motto 'leitmotiv' during its regional pre-campaign tour, 'The force that transforms', and which is still ongoing.

As sources from Podemos have explained to Europa Press, the slogan for this electoral event claims that they have been "the engine when it comes to carrying out the greatest transformations of these years", despite the "strong resistance" of the PSOE and the power of the media. and judicial".

To do this, they will highlight their efforts to form the state coalition government, as well as their role in the executives of the Valencian Community, Aragon or the Canary Islands.

Thus, both in the pre-campaign and in the electoral campaign itself, they will defend their drive to deploy the "social shield" measures during the pandemic, as well as feminist laws such as the recent abortion reform or the 'Trans' regulations, which also respond to demands citizens.

Another of the aspects that the motto of the 28M tries to evoke is its capacity to promote the "central debates" of the country, such as its proposal to cap the price of mortgages or the increase in variable-rate mortgages, its "push" to deploy "pioneering" regulations such as the Housing Law, with regulation of rental prices, that of Families or its demand for a change in parliamentary majorities to renew the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ).

"Courage is now more necessary than ever", the same sources have pointed out to highlight that they will go out to ask for the vote for 28M with the commitment to legislate in favor of the general interest, as they see demonstrated with the recent pension reform or the Extraordinary tax on electricity companies and banks.
