CC believes that Moncloa "shot itself in the foot" by agreeing 'in extremis' with Junts: It encourages others to raise the price

"Now we cannot trust the Government," says Valido, whose vote was decisive in saving the decrees due to the abstention of Junts.

MADRID, 13 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The deputy of the Canarian Coalition in Congress, Cristina Valido, considers that the Government "shot itself in the foot" by agreeing 'in extremis' with Junts to save two of its decrees and the deficit objectives in the last plenary session because with that This way of negotiating "encourages" the rest of the parties in the investiture bloc to raise the price of their support, starting with yours.

In an interview with the National Radio Parliament program, collected by Europa Press, Valido pointed out that he believes that the Executive is still not aware of the consequences of the strategy it deployed last Wednesday, by closing several agreements with Junts just before the votes. to ensure the abstention of the independentists.

In his opinion, Wednesday was a "regrettable spectacle." "We are playing with situations of vulnerable families," she recalled, emphasizing that she experienced "with concern" the possibility, which everyone took for granted, that measures for people who urgently need them and also the first commitments of the Government on the 'Canarian agenda'.

Valido confesses that he felt "relief" when he saw that Junts abstained but that later, when "the fine print of those agreements" became known, all the Government partners made the same interpretation: "We began to think that what he told us the PSOE is that we can play this, to make ourselves loved until the last moment."

The Canarian deputy fears that "some political forces could take it to the extreme and make the situation increasingly complicated." "The Government has shot itself in the foot, now we can't trust it. What are we going to trust?" She added.

Valido guarantees that as long as the Government fulfills its commitments to her party she will comply "without blackmail or last minute requests", but she also highlights that it has become clear to her that, "when abstention is chosen, the vote of the Canary Islands can increase its price".

It refers, specifically, to situations such as the one experienced in the last plenary session, when the abstention of Junts made the CC vote key. The two decrees that went ahead (the third fell due to the rejection of Podemos) and also the deficit objectives were approved by a single vote: 172 yes, compared to 171 no.

"I am convinced that ERC is also reflecting on its movements from now on because those of us who loyally comply with what was agreed look like fools, so the PSOE invites us to act differently," she summarized.
