Belarra asks the Government to be more forceful with Ferrovial, which "laughs at the Spaniards" after receiving a multitude of aid

Insists on measures for the company to return the public funds granted if it consummates its departure from the country

MADRID, 13 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The leader of Podemos and Minister of Social Rights, Ione Belarra, has demanded that the Government be "much more forceful" in the face of the possible departure of Ferrovial to the Netherlands, which she has called "unacceptable" and "means laughing at the Spanish" after receiving lots of public support.

This has been reported to the media before participating in a commemoration event in Madrid for the International Day of the Roma People, questioned by the Executive's position regarding the plans to transfer the company's headquarters, which is being discussed today at its shareholder meeting.

"What we are seeing with Ferrovial cannot be allowed. The Government must be much more forceful," he claimed to emphasize that "everyone" sees that his departure is trying to "evade paying taxes in Spain."

And that, he added, is "laughing in the face of the Spaniards who are their taxes and with public money" they gave aid to Ferrovial so that it would come "afloat" in the "worst" of the pandemic, and now they appreciate that in " good times, they take their things and leave".

Therefore, Belarra has defended that if they finally carry out their exit plan, Ferrovial has to return the amount of public aid they received. "When the State wants to, it usually can and the State has to be forceful with a company that laughs at the Spanish", he has settled.
