Azcón defends the PP agreements with VOX and PAR for a "solid, stable and effective" government

ZARAGOZA, 9 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The PP candidate for the Presidency of Aragon, Jorge Azcón, has defended, during his investiture speech, before the plenary session of the regional Parliament, the agreements that his party has signed with VOX and the Aragonese Party (PAR), "which will allow a solid, stable and, above all, efficient government, that works with determination and with a uniform criterion to improve the life of the Aragonese".

According to what he said, these agreements "have been made known with publicity and transparency" and meet the mandate of the polls, "concretising the democratic imperative in a governance pact that includes the forces located between the center and the right of the hemicycle".

Azcón recalled that he promised in the electoral campaign a "transformative project, which would focus on the economy, develop reasonable and fair taxation, support families and decisively address problems that, such as depopulation, we have been dragging along for decades" .

"This reformist and focused project, based on the values of European liberal humanism, continues to be my priority", as well as "solving problems instead of creating new ones", "through dialogue and consensus, far from any dogma", has commented.

Azcón has also expressed his gratitude to all the parliamentary groups that have wanted to participate in the round of contacts that he held after the regional elections in May to facilitate governability in Aragon.

"Forms in politics are important and I thank Podemos, Chunta and Izquierda Unida who wanted to maintain democratic forms and convey to us personally in the round of contacts their legitimate refusal to participate in governance to carry out the essential opposition work", he stated. .

Azcón thanked Teruel for "the superior effort" made, "which has shown a sincere desire to explore other forms of governance that ultimately have not been possible" and the "open and dialogue-oriented nature" of the spokesman for this formation, Tomás Guitarte, "who it is so different from other absurd positions of trenches and sectarianism".

"It is true that his spirit and his initiative have not been able to bear fruit at the regional level, but it has helped us to strengthen the governance of other institutions, and that is also essential for Aragon to progress and advance together", he has glossed.

Regarding PAR and VOX, with which the PP has reached agreements, the candidate for the Presidency has stated that the PAR spokesman, Alberto Izquierdo, "has put a commendable effort at the negotiating table to open spaces for dialogue and understanding : Thank you, Alberto, for that capacity and that interest exercised from the sphere of Aragoneseism", which has allowed the PP and PAR to sign an investiture pact.

The VOX spokesman, Alejandro Nolasco, has been told that the governance agreement they have signed "is the basis on which the political structure of the change that Aragonese society has demanded of us is based."

He has addressed him to indicate: "Collaborating to develop this project for the benefit of Aragon with a person of your intellectual level, your character and your responsibility will be an honor; thank you very much, Alejandro, for your support and your generosity to close a pact that we are going to defend with the utmost loyalty so that the people of Aragón can feel proud of our government".

"The three formations that have reached these two agreements are three different parties, with different ideological positions that we do not renounce, but as a government, we will unequivocally defend the agreements reached and we will work in harmony to carry them out", Azcón added.

The candidate for the Presidency of Aragon wanted to underline that his government proposal "is not an amendment to the entirety" because a "scorched earth" policy implies "serious irresponsibility and the most negative of blindness" and the Executive that aspires to preside "is aware of the legacy he inherits".

He also remarked that, thanks to the Spanish Constitution, "the source of our entire democratic system and our legal system, including the Statute of Autonomy", these have been "the best 45 years in our history" and the stage of greatest growth and development social and economic of the Aragonese, "who, as Joaquín Costa rightly said, because we are, we are doubly Spanish".

He has commented that governments of different signs have been adding contributions at different times and, those who want to claim the success of this path exclusively, make a mistake "that I have heard in this rostrum from the bench of the left that they will not hear from my mouth ".

"We now come to this responsibility with the will to correct the errors, but also to take advantage of the foundations that have proven to be more solid, to design and build a more prosperous Community on them," he stated.

Azcón has extended his hand to all the members of the Chamber that represents "dialogue and consensus, the search for agreements" because, despite the differences, "we all seek the same goal: the advancement of Aragon and the well-being of the Aragonese".

The candidate for the Presidency has defended the values of freedom, legitimacy and responsibility. Of the first, he has indicated that it has been the one that has led the Aragonese to decide on May 28 to "change the course of their daily lives, the viability of their personal projects and the guarantee of the well-being they deserve and to which they are entitled , granting to another way of doing politics, the responsibility of helping them achieve it".

Regarding legitimacy, he has affirmed that all the members of the Aragonese Parliament have it, "without any exception". "Democracy should also be an exercise in acceptance, of recognizing that one's ideas are not the only possible ones and the ideas of the other have the same right as their own to be manifested and heard" and "rejecting this lowers the quality of the political debate", to be against "building walls, digging trenches or imposing vetoes".

On responsibility, he has maintained that the coalition that he aspires to preside "assumes with full responsibility this mandate for change to propose a program that improves the policies that are decisive" for the "vital and social development" of the Aragonese.

For this reason, "I present myself to this investiture with the vocation of deepening this spirit of growth as a democratic society and as free individuals, fully aware that the Aragonese must be the protagonists of their own destiny and that they deserve the purpose of giving them a Government who shares their aspirations and who is able to help them solve their difficulties".
