Almería annuls and thrashes Espanyol to get out of the bottom

MADRID, 27 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) -

UD Almería beat RCD Espanyol (3-1) this Friday at the start of matchday 19 of LaLiga Santander, with the prize for an offensive and successful bet that passed over the Catalans, in a direct duel for leaving the area below the table.

Rubi's team achieved its first victory of 2023, the first since the World Cup break and five days later. The Power Horse Stadium enjoyed a great version of their team, insistently looking for the rival area and with goals from Luis Suárez, in the first half, and Baptistao and Portillo to add 22 points.

Espanyol was unknown looking at the two victories with which they arrived in Almería. Diego Martínez's men tried to push at the start of the match and did so at the restart, but they struggled to get out of their field when Almería began to connect passes and look at the rival goal.

The local game came to besiege the visitors and that was how the first goal came, the first goal scorer for rojiblanco by a Suárez who responded to the confidence in the eleven. Embarba, formerly of the parrots, also carried a lot of danger and had chances from the front.

A shot from Aleix Vidal just before the break was the only chance for the Catalans, who at the start of the second half returned with the forced step forward. Diego Martínez's men could have had their moment in a penalty on Edu Expósito, but in the end the VAR left him out of the game.

However, Almería was better again and after another mess over rival goalkeeper Álvaro, Baptistao, another ex, made it 2-0. With half an hour to go, Espanyol touched the goal with César Montes, but the game was for the locals, sentenced to the counter by Portillo. Already in the discount, Joselu (11 goals in the League) made it 3-1, a goal of honor that could have cost him an injury.
