Almeida believes that there is no "ideological difference" between Yolanda Díaz and Pablo Iglesias: "The ideas are the same"

MADRID, 8 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, affirmed this Saturday that there is no "ideological difference" between the second vice president of the Government, Yolanda Díaz, and the former leader of Podemos Pablo Iglesias, since he considers that "the ideas are exactly the themselves".

This was stated by the mayor, in statements to the media during a meeting of the Popular Party in the city of Ávila, in which he stressed that the leader of Más País, Íñigo Errejón, "was going to eat the world four years ago years and it doesn't seem like the world has eaten.

"How is Yolanda Díaz different from Pablo Iglesias ideologically? (...) She has created a brand that smiles a lot, because Podemos smiles little at the moment, it is a mark of tension, and therefore I believe that Yolanda Díaz in that sense has made a correct diagnosis," said the councilor.

However, he has highlighted that Díaz "flees" from the Podemos brand, but believes that the question is "if he flees from the policies" of Podemos. "We are not aware of any ideological difference (...) Yolanda Díaz voted the same as Ione Belarra and Irene Montero in the 'only yes is yes' Law," Almeida claimed.
