All PSOE provincial secretaries sign a manifesto of support for Sánchez to form a progressive government

The former president of the Government José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero has also signed the text in which they show their confidence in Sánchez

MADRID, 1 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

All the provincial secretaries of the PSOE have signed this Sunday a manifesto of support for the investiture of the acting President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, and also for him to form a progressive Executive "that gives continuity to the last five years of progress in Spain", as reported by the party in a statement.

The signing of the manifesto took place at an event in Madrid and it advocates for a Government that opens a "new stage of social progress" and in favor of a democracy based on gender equality, the recognition of the diversity of Spain , of its democratic memory and its "spirit of coexistence".

After the meeting, and in this order, the general secretary of the PSOE of Badajoz, Rafael Lemus, the general secretary of the PSOE of León, Javier Cendón, and the general secretary of the PSOE of Huelva, Maru Limón, were in charge of presenting said manifesto in which the leaders support and encourage "Pedro Sánchez to work to achieve his investiture again as President of the Government."

"The trust in him is the trust we place in the formation of a progressive Executive that opens a new stage of progress," says the text.

"We face this new stage with full enthusiasm and determination," says the document, which also calls for a "Spain in peace" in the face of the "scorched earth political strategy" that, in his opinion, is carried out by an opposition that "trusts it." everything to the disqualifications and the personal attack" on Sánchez.

Thus, he has urged the PP to abandon "insults and lies" as a way of doing politics, while asking them to "return to the constitutional consensus" and to end the "blockade" to which they have subjected the governing body. of the judges during the last five years.

"We do not ask for the support of the PP to govern, our political projects are very different. But we do demand that the PP abandon the radical nature of its embrace with the extreme right and return to respect for basic consensus," adds the manifesto that has also been signed. already by the former president of the Government José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero.

In relation to the investiture process of the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, in which he did not obtain the necessary support for it to go ahead, the socialists' manifesto emphasizes that, in their opinion, the result of the general elections on July 23 was a "clear no" to the popular leader.

"PP and Vox asked for the vote to repeal the work of a progressive Government with a strategy based exclusively on insults and lies. A bet that failed on July 23. If PP and Vox had had enough votes, today Spain would have a Government of the right and the extreme right. Exactly the same as has happened in all the communities and town councils where they have joined, although the PSOE was the most voted force in many of them," the text states.

The manifesto also highlights job creation policies, labor market reform and the commitment to gender equality and the expansion of citizens' rights and freedoms and democratic sensitivity.

"The commitment of the PSOE is to form a Government of progress with Sumar to revalidate the agreements that gave such good results in the last legislature," the document highlights.
