The actress Itziar Castro, known for participating in films such as 'Pieles' or 'Campeones' and series such as 'Vis a vis', died this Thursday in Lloret de Mar (Girona) at the age of 46.

The family and friends of the interpreter have issued a statement, released by the actress' representation agency, in which they have specified that the death occurred last night, December 7.
In it, they have pointed out that "with an outstanding career in the entertainment industry, Castro left an indelible mark with her notable performance and charisma," and they have stressed that she was also "a tireless fighter for her ideals."
"His contribution to the art world and his tireless work for equality and social justice will remain a lasting legacy of his passion and commitment," they stated, asking for respect for Castro's family "during this difficult period of mourning."

Castro (Barcelona, 1977) began his career in 2022 in the feature film 'Noche de fiesta', after which he participated in different television series and films, highlighting among them the film 'Snow White', by Pablo Berger.
In 2017 she was part of the film 'Pieles', by Eduardo Casanova, which earned her a Goya nomination for Best New Actress. Later, in 2018 she joined the cast of the series 'Vis a vis', where she gained even more visibility as a performer.
The actress, who also developed her career in musicals or theater, later participated in films such as 'Matar a Dios' or 'Campeones', was the acting teacher for Operación Triunfo 2018 and was part of the series 'Por H o por B' , on HBO Spain, or 'Once upon a time... but not anymore', on Netflix. In October of this year she presented the short film 'La cita', directed, produced and scripted by herself.
