ACS, through its Australian subsidiary Cimic, has been awarded a project in Australia to design the Bundaberg hospital, located in Queensland, with the possibility of also undertaking its construction in the future, as reported by the company.
The value of this new center amounts to 1,200 million Australian dollars (715 million euros) and is part of a macro-project of 9,780 million dollars (8,850 million euros) launched by the Queensland Government to update the hospital network.
CPB Contractors, a Cimic subsidiary, will lead the design phase of the project, which involves the design of a new six-story hospital for medical, surgical and mental health services, as well as clinical and emergency support and associated infrastructure.
"This is an important project that will provide local people with a modern health center prepared to meet their needs, improving access to emergency, surgical, pediatric and mental health centres. We will work with the Queensland health system to offer an innovative, modern and flexible design", stated the CEO of Cimic and ACS, Juan Santamaría.
The project, which will employ 500 people at its construction peak and generate more than 2,500 local jobs, is expected to be completed in the second half of 2027.
