Acerinox workers cut the A-7 again near Los Barrios (Cádiz)

LOS BARRIOS (CÁDIZ), Feb. 16 (EUROPA PRESS) -

Acerinox workers, on strike since last February 5 over the negotiation of the agreement with the company, have once again blocked the A-7 near Los Barrios (Cádiz) and have asked highway users for "patience" , the main artery in the mobility of the Campo de Gibraltar, to understand that they are fighting "for a dignified agreement."

"After the company's decision not to want to negotiate with the strike committee that had been set up and the four unions - out of five that make up the works committee - have been unified, today we have toughened up the protests," explained one of union spokespersons.

It is worth remembering that this Thursday the Extrajudicial Conflict Resolution Service of Andalusia (Sercla) hosted a new meeting between workers and the company that ended without agreement.

As indicated by the company in a statement, Acerinox stated that the strike committee presented "cannot be considered a valid interlocutor" in the negotiation of the IV Collective Agreement of the Palmones Plant, since "it does not respect the representativeness or proportionality of the works council, so it would not be possible to reach valid agreements".

It should be remembered that the strike was initially called by the Steel Workers Association (ATA) union, which chairs the works committee made up of four other unions such as CCOO, UGT, USO and Coordinadora. The proposal to go on strike was supported by the workers with 1,313 votes in favor, 193 against, 14 blank votes and three null votes.

Among the points of disagreement on the part of the workers are the salary revision, the production bonus, availability, flexibility, versatility, partial retirements and promotions.
