Accenture acquires the Spanish cybersecurity company Innotec Security

Accenture has acquired Innotec Security, the private company specialized in cybersecurity as a service, cyber resilience and risk management, thus expanding its capabilities and presence in Spain.

Accenture Security, which has made 19 acquisitions since 2015, has not yet made public the economic conditions of the agreement, as it points out in a statement.

Innotec Security, which until now belonged to Grupo Entelgy, was founded in 2002, has its headquarters in Madrid and is currently "one of the main providers of cybersecurity services in the Spanish market."

With the acquisition of Innotec Security, which is also present in Barcelona, ​​Seville and the Basque Country, 500 expert cybersecurity professionals will join the 20,000 employees that Accenture Security has around the world.

The Spanish company provides different cybersecurity services, including cyberdefense, threat simulation, incident detection, response and management, cyber-intelligence, infrastructure and application security, cyber risk assessment and security consulting.

The company has among its clients companies that operate in Spain in sectors such as financial services, energy, logistics, healthcare, transportation or the public sector.

The global head of Accenture Security, Paolo Dal Cin, has stated that Innotec Security "is an excellent and well-known company in Spain, with a highly qualified cybersecurity team, which will significantly improve Accenture's presence in the market."

Likewise, he assured that this acquisition "will also expand their capabilities in the region and help them meet the growing demand for managed security services throughout Europe."

For his part, the head of Accenture Security in Spain and Portugal, Agustín Muñoz-Grandes, has assured that they are "delighted to welcome the excellent Innotec Security team to Accenture Security", which will help them "consolidate their leadership in the cybersecurity services market".

The CEO of Innotec Security, Felix Muñoz, has pointed out that its strategy "has always consisted of offering clients top-level cybersecurity services and being one of the best companies to work for, which fits perfectly with the cyber defense model focused on Accenture's industry and its corporate culture.

After acquiring Symantec's cybersecurity services division in January 2020, Accenture became one of the leading global MSS providers. In addition, it reinforced its capabilities in this sector and in cyber defense in Europe with the purchase of Sentor and Openminded and with that of MNEMO México, Morphus and Real Protect, in Latin America.

Recently, Accenture ranked No. 1 in managed security services market share by revenue in the Gartner Market Share: Managed Security Services, Worldwide report and was named a leader in the latest Forrester Research report on European providers of managed security services.
