A civil guard arrested for attacking and trying to strangle his wife in Valencia

VALENCIA, 17 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The National Police have arrested a 55-year-old man in the city of Valencia for allegedly attacking his 50-year-old wife, whom he beat and tried to strangle, according to the newspaper 'Levante-EMV' and they have confirmed to Europa Press sources of the investigation.

The events occurred this past Tuesday at noon in the Benicalap neighborhood, when the man, a Civil Guard agent, beat his wife, whom he allegedly tried to strangle.

To the scene, the Emergency Information and Coordination Center (CICU) has mobilized a basic life support unit (BLS) that has treated the 50-year-old victim for contusions on the head, bruises on the face and upper limbs. The woman, who was in a confused state, has been taken to a health center.

The Civil Guard, for its part, had removed the agent's regulatory weapon prior to these events, following the body's internal protocols, according to sources from the armed institute. Apparently, she was on sick leave due to depression, according to published information.
