A bank robber in Madrid was arrested after stealing 160,000 euros by threatening the cashier with a knife

The National Police have arrested a robber from an office of a bank on Calle Núñez de Balboa, in Madrid, after stealing 160,000 euros early this Friday, threatening a cashier with a knife, sources have reported to Europa Press police.

The event was recorded around 9:00 a.m. this Friday and the robber, who also stole some personal belongings from the clients who were in the bank, was arrested by agents of the Police Intervention Unit (UIP) shortly after when he fled on foot.

The thief was carrying the money in a garbage bag and after the arrest, two knives were also seized from him, according to the aforementioned sources.

The docked office is located at number 65 Núñez de Balboa street, in the Salamanca district. The investigation has been assumed by Group 13 of Robberies of the Superior Headquarters of the National Police of Madrid.

The man has threatened a cashier with a knife at the bank branch, causing a stir among customers and employees who were in the bank. This individual has pointed the knife at the cashier and has taken in a garbage bag the 160,000 euros of the entity and also the personal effects of the clients.

Then he ran away with the money through the surrounding streets, where shortly after he was arrested by agents of the Police 'riot control' unit, which was alerted by the bank's security service.
