About 4.5 million workers have been on partial unemployment in June, around a quarter of private employees, according to an estimate of the Dares.

The return of the employees in their company is progressing, with six in ten who worked in their company at the end of June, the second month of the déconfinement, according to Dares, the statistics service of the ministry of Labour.

Statistical supplement : approximately 4.5 million workers have been on partial unemployment in June, around a quarter of private employees, according to an estimate of the Dares, the statistics service of the ministry of Labour. They were $ 7.9 million in this situation in may, to 8.8 million in April, and 7.2 million in march, at the beginning of the epidemic Covid-19 in France. Among them, about 700 000 people are reported to have been in part-time workers in June for child care or because of situations of vulnerability.

The number of working hours in June in respect of the activity partial would be 231 million, or 52 hours (a week and a half) on average per employee concerned. In this context, in June, the total amount of allocation activity partial would be € 2.4 billion, after $ 4.9 billion in may and 8.9 billion in April.

Two regions, the Île-de-France and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, focusing most of employees compensated in the activity partial. The three sectors most represented are business services (842 000 employees), and accommodation and food services (663 000) and trade (637 000).

"Lack of opportunity"

But overall, the recovery in activity continues, with only 1% of employees remain in a company whose activity was totally stopped in June, after 5% in may, 12% in April and 19% in march. The improvement is particularly visible in the restoration and accommodation, with 12% of employees at the end of June, after 49% in may.

Finally, the business outlook remain marked by high levels of uncertainty and large heterogeneity between sectors.' The main difficulties in perspective remain the "lack of opportunities", the organization of the activity so as to comply with the distancing and physical "limited availability of certain employees" in particular because of problems of child care.
