MADRID, 7 (EUROPA PRESS)

The Congressional commission that investigates emergency contracts for the purchase of medical supplies in a pandemic has summoned for this Monday the president of the Lower House and former president of the Balearic Islands, Francina Armengol, and two former senior officials of that regional Executive, who paid 1.4 million euros to Management Solutions – the company behind the ‘Koldo plot’ – for their masks.

As reported by the president of the commission, the socialist Alejandro Soler Mur, the Board of this body has agreed to start these three appearances on the contracts awarded by the Balearic Government at half past eleven in the morning with Manuel Palomino, who was director of the Island Health Service (IB-Salut) during the pandemic.

Already in the afternoon session, at three in the afternoon, the current spokesperson for the PSOE in the Balearic Parliament, Iago Negueruela, who was Minister of Labor, Commerce and Industry of the Armengol Governments, between 2015 and 2023, will be interrogated.

The appearance of the president of Congress has been set for six in the afternoon. In a public appearance last March, Armengol denied having received “orders” or “pressure” from the Koldo plot to acquire material or demand the return of part of it, although he did not clarify who in the Ministry of Public Works advised them to contract with Soluciones. of Management.

Armengol has always maintained that all the offers that came to them for the sale of material during the pandemic were passed on to the technicians of the Balearic Health Service, who were the ones who reviewed prices and materials and decided whether to hire or not.

The PP, which even asked for Armengol’s resignation as president of the Chamber because it considered her a possible “necessary collaborator” in the ‘Koldo plot’, has voted against her appearance before the commission next Tuesday, as explained by parliamentary sources.
