Zelenski meets with prosecutors from allied countries, including the Spanish García Ortiz

"We need a court to see all the culprits behind bars," he claims

MADRID, 3 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The President of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelenski, met this Friday with the European Commissioner for Justice, Didier Reynders, and representatives of the prosecutor's offices of allied countries, including the Attorney General of Spain, Álvaro García Ortiz, to discuss potential judicial investigations .

The meeting coincided with a trip by Zelenski to the Lviv area, in the west of the country, and was also attended by the United States Attorney General, Merrick Garlan, the Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), Karim Khan, and representatives from the United Kingdom, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania and Estonia.

"Our country is a great battlefield," lamented Zelenski, who has also emphasized the importance of fighting Russia in the judicial field. "True justice", he added, involves condemning those who have committed abuses in the context of the conflict, according to the Ukrainian Presidency.

Zelensky has stressed that this accountability is important not only for Ukraine, but also for the world as a whole, so that no other "aggressor" considers repeating the military offensive launched just over a year ago by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"That's why we need justice. We need a court to see all the culprits behind bars," he added.
