The founder of the Russian group of Wagner mercenaries, Yevgueni Prigozhin, reported this Sunday the discovery in Bakhmut, Ukraine, of two bodies of alleged foreign mercenaries mutilated to make their identification difficult.
“Today in Bakhmut, Wagner units have found decapitated bodies without hands. Telephones and other information reveal that these bodies were those of mercenaries that the enemy could not take away due to intense fighting and that is why they tried to hide their identities,” Prigozhin said. , quoted by the Russian news agency TASS.
“All the bodies and all the evidence will be transferred to the authorities for them to investigate and make the necessary decisions,” Prigozhin added.
Russian forces have been trying for weeks to take control of the strategic town of Bakhmut, Artemovsk for Moscow, and both sides have assured that the other has suffered very significant casualties in this battle.
