Ukrainian Intelligence estimates that 315,000 Russians have been mobilized since Putin's announcement

MADRID, 23 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Ukrainian Intelligence estimates that more than 315,000 Russian citizens have been sent to Ukrainian soil to fight since President Vladimir Putin announced a "partial mobilization" as part of the war.

"According to our calculations, there are not 300,000 but 315,000 people who have been transferred at the moment. Now they are carrying out a new mobilization in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Lugansk. If they continue to handle these figures, they will be left without a male population capable of work in these areas," said Vadim Skibitski, Deputy Minister of the Interior.

Thus, he has indicated that "measures are still being taken to increase these numbers" and has clarified that Russia lacks sufficient weapons for so many units. "Moscow has begun to withdraw weapons from warehouses and arsenals, but it needs to do repair and maintenance work as well," he said before insisting that "they spend more than they produce."

"They were scheduled to finish coordinating the fighting at the beginning of December and they have finished now in January. This means that they have waited a whole month for the division to be equipped with weapons that they are not producing right now. In case there is an increase in the mobilization, they will have bigger problems with supplies", he clarified.

Putin announced on September 21 a partial mobilization. Then, he explained that some 300,000 reservists could be called up in the framework of the invasion of Ukraine.
