Trump criticizes the Democrats after the publication of his fiscal data

MADRID, 30 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Former US President Donald Trump has criticized the Democrats this Friday after the Ways and Means Committee of the United States House of Representatives has published his fiscal data during his tenure at the helm of the Administration.

"Democrats should never have done it. The Supreme Court should never have approved it and it's going to lead to horrible things for so many people. America's great divide will now be much worse," he highlighted in a message on Truth Social, as reported The Hill.

"The tax returns show once again how proudly successful I have been and how I have been able to use depreciation and other tax deductions as an incentive to create thousands of jobs and magnificent structures and companies," he added.

The thousands of pages of documents from the former president's personal and business tax returns, covering tax years 2015-2020, have been obtained by the committee after a lengthy court battle with Trump's legal team, as reported by the CNN network.

According to documents released so far, Trump paid $1 million in federal income taxes in 2018 and 2019, in stark contrast to the $700 he paid in 2017. He paid no tax in 2020, according to a Joint Tax Committee report.

The pages confirm the information advanced by the newspaper 'The New York Times' in 2020 that Trump had a bank account in China --as well as in other foreign countries, such as the United Kingdom or Ireland-- linked to his company Trump International Hotels Management .

With the massive amount of documents, it will take time to unpack all the information, but exceptional disclosures are not anticipated, although they could provide additional insight into key areas of interest regarding Trump's business dealings and professional associations.
