Trump blames the leader of the Republicans in the Senate for the electoral failure in the 'midterm'

The former president of the Government of the United States Donald Trump has blamed this Sunday the Senate minority leader, Republican Mitch McConnell, for the electoral failure of the mid-term elections, after not meeting the expectations indicated by the polls.

"It's Mitch McConnell's fault. Spending money to defeat major Republican candidates instead of endorsing Blake Masters and others was a huge mistake," Trump wrote on his Truth Social profile, referring to pouring money into the Sen. Lisa Murkowski's race against Trump-backed Kelly Tshibaka.

"He failed the partial tests, and everyone despises him and his lovely wife, Coco Chow!" The former president continued, as reported by The Hill newspaper.

The Republicans have lost the battle for control of the Senate, while it is unknown at the moment who will win the House of Representatives, because for the moment the results are even.

Although the Republican Party continues to be the favorite for the Lower House, it has not met expectations, which spoke of a "red wave", by which they would win that body by a margin and make it difficult for the Democrats to maintain the Upper House.

In this sense, supporters of the Republican Party have blamed the former president and the candidates he supported in key swing states.

Thus, Republican Senator Bill Cassidy has blamed Trump-aligned politicians for focusing on "outdated" issues like the 2020 election on "voter fraud," rather than crime or the economy.

Before the Senate went to Democrats, Trump admitted the midterms were "somewhat disappointing" but still a "big win."
