They call protests in Argentina a few hours after the verdict against Cristina Fernández is issued

MADRID, 6 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Organizations and social movements have begun to mobilize this Tuesday in different parts of the city of Buenos Aires, the Argentine capital, as a sign of support for the vice president, Cristina Fernández, a few hours after the verdict against her by the well-known 'Road cause', which can imply a sentence of up to twelve years in prison.

The vice president's followers speak of "political persecution" against the "number two" of the president, Alberto Fernández, in the framework of the trial for defrauding the State through the concession of public works in Santa Cruz.

The sentence against Fernández and twelve other defendants in the same case will be known this Tuesday, although Argentine politics continues to call for acquittal, considering that there is no evidence of any crime.

Thus, the State Workers Association (ATE) has decided to call a vigil at the union gates at 5:00 p.m. (local time) "to monitor the alternatives to the ruling against Cristina Fernández and to mobilize in the event of a conviction and attempted proscription for part of the judicial party.

In addition, they have asked that "all possible instances of articulation with other unions and organizations of the popular field be exhausted in order to express, in a united way, the repudiation of any attempt to condemn the vice president in the judicial farce", as stated points out a statement collected by the Telam news agency.

Along the same lines, the Union of Road and Related Workers (STVyARA), headed by Graciela Aleñá, plans to carry out a march towards the federal courts of Comodoro Py to reject what they consider a "political persecution".

"A sector of justice, which responds to macrismo and the major media, filed a case without evidence and hopes to convict Cristina Fernánez," Aleñá stated.

In addition, workers from the Legislative Staff Association (APL) have announced rallies together with the National Congress in solidarity with the vice president since this morning.

Fernández explained on Monday in an interview with the Brazilian newspaper 'Folha de Sao Paulo' that on December 7 the newspapers will carry on the front page: "Cristina, condemned." In fact, he considers that her foreseeable sentence will be a "gift" for the head of Grupo Clarín, Héctor Magnetto, whom he implicates in a political, media and judicial plot that, in his opinion, has the sole purpose of discrediting her politically.
