The Government of France activates article 49.3 for the seventh time and the opposition presents a motion of censure

MADRID, 30 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Prime Minister of France, Élisabeth Borne, has activated this Wednesday for the seventh time article 49.3 of the Constitution to approve a budget text without a vote, which has provoked an immediate reaction from the French left, which has announced a new motion of censure against the government.

After the Senate rejected the Social Security financing bill for 2023 on Tuesday, Borne has once again promoted this constitutional tool on the full text in order to reach its final approval.

"Today, at the end of the examination of the text, and a few days before the end of the constitutional term, I regret that the positions have been frozen. And that despite the advances, each opposition group has reaffirmed its desire to oppose the bill "He explained, according to the newspaper 'Le Monde'.

Shortly after, the leader of the France Insoumise (LFI), Mathilde Panot, has announced a new motion of no confidence against the Government only two days after another failed in the National Assembly presented by the left-wing party.

"Seven 49.3 in six weeks. Result of Macron and Borne: five 49.3 to force the PLFSS --Social Security financing bill for 2023-- and overcome hospital chaos and medicine shortages," he explained in his Twitter profile.

The main opposition groups, La Francia Insumisa, led by Jean-Luc Mélenchon, and Agrupación Nacional, led by Marine Le Pen, have been the promoters of various motions of censure in recent weeks that, for the moment, have not obtained the necessary votes to be approved.
