Sunak's popularity falls after almost 100 days at the helm of the United Kingdom

MADRID, 20 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The popularity rating of the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Rishi Sunak, has fallen after almost 100 days at the helm of the country, a position he assumed in October 2022, according to the results of a survey published this Friday.

Polling firm YouGov has indicated that as Sunak approaches three months in office, citizens appear to be gradually withdrawing their support.

Thus, the survey indicates that three out of five Britons, around 60 percent, now have an "unfavorable" perception of the 'premier', including 34 percent who consider his position "very unfavorable."

Last October, the percentage of people who spoke out against Sunak revolved around 48 percent, while 39 percent of those surveyed considered his appointment positive.

Thus, the survey shows that critical voices have increased by 20 percent in the last three months. Sunak, 42, became the youngest head of government in history and the first of Indian origin after resigning as a cabinet minister under former Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

Johnson was replaced in office by former Foreign Secretary Liz Truss, who served just 45 days in office, with the shortest government in UK history.
