The meeting was attended by the European Justice Commissioner, Didier Reynders, the United States Attorney General, Merrick Garland, or the Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), Karim Khan, among others.

García Ortiz has stated that the possible trial will include war crimes "and all possible atrocities" that have been committed in this war.

"Our presence is not only to carry out this analysis, but also in the first place to make ourselves available to the Ukrainian authorities and show what has been the contribution of the Spanish justice to the Ukrainian justice in the prosecution of these crimes", has pointed out Garcia Ortiz.

García Ortiz has stressed that the persecution of these "atrocities" will be valued both from the national and international point of view.

"All aspects of Spanish collaboration that could be improved have also been assessed and, of course, to express our solidarity and the full support of all the Spanish people and Spanish justice for the suffering of the Ukrainian people", the prosecutor concluded. general.
