Russia denounces the "direct participation" of Western countries in the war in Ukraine

MADRID, 26 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Kremlin has stressed this Thursday that the actions by the West in relation to the war in Ukraine "is perceived as a direct participation in the conflict", after Germany announced the shipment of Leopard battle tanks and unlocked these deliveries by part of other European countries.

"We constantly hear from European capitals and Washington that the shipment of weapons systems, including tanks, to Ukraine does not imply the participation of these countries or NATO in the hostilities in Ukraine. We categorically disagree," the Kremlin spokesman said. Dmitry Peskov.

"For Moscow, everything that the Alliance and the capitals that I have mentioned are doing is perceived as a direct participation in the conflict. We see that this is increasing," he said, as reported by the Russian news agency Interfax.

Likewise, he has ruled out that the authorities "do not have on the agenda" a possible change of the "special military operation" as a result of the delivery of battle tanks, while he has downplayed the refusal of the Ukrainian president, Volodimir Zelenski, to negotiate with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin.

"I don't think an answer is necessary. He has long ceased to be a possible opponent for Putin," Peskov said. "We know what Zelensky's promises were when he was elected president, it is not difficult to remember. He did not solve the problem in Donbas. He did not comply with the Minsk Agreements. It seems that he was not going to do it and that he was preparing for war", he has settled .
