The mayor of Kiev, Vitali Klitschko, has confirmed that there have been explosions inside the Ukrainian capital, in the Holosiiv neighborhood, in the midst of the air raids that are taking place early Thursday throughout the country.
Through his Telegram channel, the mayor has confirmed the place of the explosions, in addition to reporting that all the devices are in place. The Kiev Region Military Administration has also confirmed that the area's air defenses have been operational since just after midnight on Wednesday, although details about the explosions have not been confirmed.
The Administration has also confirmed power outages in the capital, as a preventive measure to prevent further damage to energy infrastructure, and the mayor has detailed that 15 percent of consumers are without electricity.
Likewise, they have asked citizens of the entire region to remain in safe places, and have launched an appeal to the citizens of kyiv not to post photos or videos on social networks and "maintain information silence."
In the early hours of Thursday, explosions were also registered in the cities of Kharkiv, Khmelnitsky and Zhytomyr, as well as in the regions of Kiev, Poltava, Lviv, Vinitsa, Ivano Frankovsk, Odessa and Ternopil, according to 'The Kyiv Independent'.
