Germany will not carry out deportations to Iran in the face of the political crisis and the repression of demonstrations

MUNICH (GERMANY), 28 Nov. (DPA/EP) -

The German authorities have announced this Monday that they will not proceed to deport Iranians to their country in the face of the political crisis in Iran due to the repression of the protests that have been taking place since September after the death in custody of a woman arrested for allegedly wearing a bad dress. veil.

"We agree that there will be no deportations until further notice," said the president of the Conference of Interior Ministers of the German federal states, Joachim Herrmann, who is head of this department in Bavaria. Thus, the case will only be an option if it involves dangerous people.

Herrmann has demanded that the federal government provide the federated states with an assessment of the situation in Iran as a basis on which to make decisions, as reported by the German news agency DPA.

The announcement has been made just a few hours after the Government of Iran summoned the German ambassador in Tehran, Hans-Udo Muzel, to protest the "interventionist and unfounded statements" made by Berlin in relation to the protests that have been taking place since September for the death in custody of Mahsa Amini and his support for the initiative at the United Nations Human Rights Council, which last week approved the creation of an independent international mission to investigate "alleged violations of Human Rights" in Iran.

During the day, the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Naser Kanani, stated that Tehran "will not cooperate" with an international investigation into the repression of the protests and has outlined that "it has evidence" on the role of foreign countries in the mobilizations. The repression of the protests has resulted in more than 480 deaths, according to the latest balance provided by the non-governmental organization Iran Human Rights (IHR).
