At least three Palestinians killed in clashes with the Israeli Army in the northern West Bank

At least three young Palestinians were killed and another civilian was injured during the day on Wednesday after being shot by Israeli security forces in Jenin, in the northern West Bank.

Medical sources have reported that two young men -- Naim Jamal Al Zubaidi, 27, and Muhammad Ayman Al Saadi, 26 -- were killed by army fire during a military operation in the Jenin camp, while the wounded is stable.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have reportedly launched a major operation in the Jenin refugee camp, resulting in violent clashes between soldiers and civilians, the Palestinian news agency Wafa has reported, while, for the moment, , the IDF has not commented.

The soldiers would have assaulted the camp, deploying snipers on the roofs of the houses.

After this event, civilians have carried out a march carrying the bodies of the deceased. The attendees, who have walked the streets of Jenin, have chanted slogans condemning "the crimes by the occupation and demanding international protection."

Consequently, the Palestinian authorities have established this Thursday as a day of mourning, urging merchants and institutions to join a general strike.

Added to these deaths is the death of another Palestinian, Muhamad Tawfiq Badarneh, 26, who succumbed to his injuries in hospital after being shot in the chest by the IDF.

The funeral was held on Wednesday night, where attendees chanted patriotic slogans and called for increased resistance "against the occupying forces." Thus, several speeches have been made highlighting the condemnation of the crimes and the need for justice.

Following this, the death toll in Palestine by the Israeli Armed Forces since the beginning has risen to 210. In less than three days, there have been eight Palestinians killed.

The United Nations special coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, Tor Wennesland, warned on Monday that "after decades of persistent violence, expansion of illegal settlements, inactive negotiations and deepening of the occupation, the conflict is reaching a boiling point again".

In an appearance before the UN Security Council, Wennesland stressed that "the high levels of violence in the West Bank and Israel in recent months, including attacks on Israeli and Palestinian civilians, the increased use of weapons and related violence with the settlers have caused serious human suffering".
