An earthquake of magnitude 6.2 on the open Richter scale has shaken the Indonesian islands of Java and Bali on Tuesday, with no information on victims or material damage for the moment.

The Indonesian National Meteorological, Geophysical and Climatological Agency (BMKG) has detailed through its website that the epicenter of the earthquake has been located south of the island of Java and has added that the hypocenter has been located ten kilometers deep. .

The quake has been followed by several aftershocks, including several with magnitudes greater than 4 on the open Richter scale, according to the agency. The authorities have not yet activated the tsunami warning.

In November, more than 300 people died from an earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale, with its epicenter ten kilometers south of Cianjur. The quake shook the capital, Jakarta, without causing casualties in the city.
