The UMH Science Park addresses the application of AI in scientific research and innovation

The Science Park of the Miguel Hernández University (PCUMH) of Elche (Alicante) will organize this Wednesday a conference on the opportunities offered by Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the field of research and scientific innovation, which will feature experts in this field. sector, among them the YouTube popularizer Carlos Santana (DotCSV).

The day, which will take place starting at 11:00 a.m. in different locations on the Elche campus, will begin with a practical workshop in Classroom 0.1 of the Altabix building, led by the engineer from the Institute of Artificial Intelligence Daniel Aliaga, as indicated by the institution. academic in a statement.

Under the title 'AI as a technical and creative co-pilot', Aliaga will show in a practical way how AI can help, among other aspects, to program a web page, analyze a set of data, create images for social networks or music for videos.

The session will continue at 4:00 p.m. with three presentations, which can be followed both in person in the Events Room of the Quorum I building, and by streaming through the PCUMH YouTube channel. In the first of them, the co-founder of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence Andrés Miguel Torrubia will focus on AI as a catalyst for scientific advance and will speak, from a pragmatic point of view, about the role of AI as a driver of scientific innovation.

For his part, the popularizer Carlos Santana will give the talk 'The future of AI: beyond the hype', in which he will explore the potential of AI and its role in the transformation of society. To do this, he will analyze applications such as Chat GPT, Midjourney, Copilot or Whisper, and will explain how they have transformed AI into a comprehensive, omnipresent and constantly evolving tool.

Likewise, the rector's delegate for Digital Transformation and researcher and teacher in the Area of ​​Computer Languages ​​and Systems at the UMH, Federico Botella, will speak during his speech about the use of AI in teaching, research, development, innovation and entrepreneurship (DIDiE) at the UMH. After the sessions, a networking space will be set up.
